A Note from the Nurse:
From the Nurse:
I can't believe we are headed into the end of our school year! It has been such a fun year and a pleasure to care for all of the students here at RES. I am looking forward to the summer and seeing all our returning students back in August. To our 5th graders that will be heading to RMS, I know you are ready and we celebrate you and all your growth.
If your student has medication in the clinic, please be sure and pick it up before the end of the day on the last day of school. Anything left in the clinic will have to be thrown away. If, for some reason, you can not pick it up that day, please contact me and I will make arrangements to meet you at another time.
Have a great summer, and I will see you all back here for another great school year!

Title I Team (Krista Miller & Kristin Williams):
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” - Dr. Seuss
Glow Night was wonderful! Thank you to everyone who helped make the night a great success and everyone who was able to come out and have some fun before the end of the year. We could not have had such a great night without you.
Our last reading challenge for our 24-25 school year also came to an end. We hope you all enjoyed a free or discounted Hillcats game with your family and friends!
Tips for Reading with Your Child Over the Summer:
Invite your child to read with you every day.
Pick a new book or check out books from the public library.
Discuss new words in the stories as you come across them. For example, "This big house is called a palace. Who do you think lives in a palace?"
If it’s a favorite book, read it again and again.
Stop and ask about the pictures and about what is happening in the story.
A Note from the Attendance Team:
For any absence, please Dojo or email your child’s teacher. This must be communicated within 48 hours to excuse an absence. If your student has an appointment, please send in the note from the physician's office. Any attendance questions or concerns please contact Robin Elliott. 434-332-5215 or relliott@campbell.k12.va.us
·After 3 unexcused absences, a letter will be sent home, requesting notes to be sent to school, explaining the reason for any future absences.
·After 5 unexcused absences, a letter will be sent home, requesting a parent conference. A conference form will be completed and kept on file.
·After 10 total absences, excused and/or unexcused, a doctor’s note will be required for any additional absences.
Research shows that good school attendance has a positive impact on children’s academic success. Please be mindful of the number of late arrivals and early dismissals your child accrues… every minute counts!
