She has been married to her wonderful husband, Shaun, for 29 years and has two awesome adult sons, Michael and Daniel. She loves reading, backpacking, hiking and anything “in the woods!” While she is new to Rustburg Elementary School this year, she has fifteen years of teaching and administrative experience. She has taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade, so she has a pretty good understanding of where her students are going educationally! Mrs. Dearden believes that building strong relationships with her students is critical to their academic and social growth, so that is always a top priority. She also views education as a partnership between teachers, students and families and “we’re all in this together!” So, let’s buckle up for an amazing “new and different” year together where The Sky's The Limit at Rustburg Elementary School!
